Skymark Airlines (BC)

Skymark Airlines is a Japanese carrier based in Tokyo. The carrier, which commenced operations in 1998, operates domestic services from its hub at Tokyo International Airport. After an aggressive programme of growth in recent years, Skymark became loss-making and declared bankruptcy on 28-Jan-2015. Under a JPY18 billion (USD149 million) joint sponsorship programme, Investment firm Integral Corporation acquired a 50.1% stake in the carrier, while ANA owns 16.5%, and the Development Bank of Japan and Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp own a combined 33.4% stake. Skymark shares were delisted from the Tokyo Stock Exchange on 01-Mar-2015 and exited bankruptcy administration in Mar-2016. Skymark stated it plans to relist on the Stock Exchange.
